The Praxis Tests are part of the series of American Teacher Certification Exams through Educational Testing Services. Various Praxis tests are usually required before, during, or after entering into the college level education program in the US.
In order to be a teacher in the US students must pass two tests. Praxis I consists of three exams for reading, writing, and mathematics. Praxis II, on the other hand, covers various subject areas, which the student may wish to teach.
